With expert guidance, you'll learn essential sewing techniques and create a garment or bag tailored to your style. Choose Your Project: Dress in a Day Workshop 👗 With our expert dressmaking tutor, Zoë Fancy making your very own dress in just one day? Join us for this hands-on workshop where you'll sew a stylish dress from start to finish — no previous dressmaking experience needed! We have a range of dress patterns for you to choose from on the day. What You’ll Need to Bring: 🧷 A 22-inch zip 🧵 Matching thread 🧵 Fabric: 1.3 metres if your fabric is 150cm wide 2.3 metres if your fabric is 115cm wide Great fabric options include lightweight denim, medium-weight cotton, linen blends, or wool mixes. ✂️ A basic sewing kit: pins, fabric scissors, needle, measuring tape, and tailor’s chalk. You’ll leave with a beautiful, handmade dress and a huge sense of achievement! 👖 Trousers – Make wide-leg, comfy trousers with pleats, pockets, and an elastic waistband. No zips required! Struggle to find trousers that actually fit? Why not make your own! Join us for a fun and relaxed sewing workshop where you’ll create your own pair of wide-leg, loose-fitting trousers. This design features front pleats, handy side pockets, and a comfy elasticated waistband—no tricky zip required! What to Bring: 🧵 Basic sewing kit 🧵 Matching thread 🧵 1 metre of 3cm wide elastic (for the waistband) 🧵 30cm of iron-on interfacing 🧵 2.2–2.9 metres of lightweight woven fabric — great options include soft cotton, linen, chambray, viscose, Tencel, or woven polyester. Whether you’re a confident beginner or a seasoned stitcher, you’ll leave with a great-fitting pair of trousers you'll want to wear again and again. 🌟 All skill levels welcome! The Textile Workshop Booking Policy Thank you for booking with us! We’re excited to welcome you to our workshops and classes. Please review our booking policy below to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. 1. Payment and Confirmation Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place. You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete. 2. Cancellations and Refunds No refunds will be issued for cancellations. If you are unable to attend, we can offer you a credit note for the full value of your booking. This credit can be used for any future classes or workshops within 6 months from the issue date. To receive a credit note, please notify us at least 48 hours before the session. Any cancellations made after this time will not be eligible for a credit note. 3. Transfers If you wish to transfer your booking to another date, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance. Subject to availability, we will be happy to reschedule you for a future class or session. 4. Late Arrivals Please arrive on time. If you arrive late, we may not be able to extend the session time. Late arrivals will not be eligible for a refund or credit note. 5. Class Changes and Cancellations In the rare event that we need to cancel or reschedule a class due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule to another date. 6. Participant Waiver & Acknowledgement of Risk By booking a class with The Textile Workshop, you acknowledge that: Our workshops involve the use of tools, machinery, and materials that may pose inherent risks, including but not limited to: Minor cuts or punctures from needles, scissors, tufting tools. Potential allergic reactions or irritation from fibres or dust Exposure to fine particles, yarn fibres, or airborne materials associated with textile-based crafts Tripping or slipping hazards in a shared studio environment While we provide guidance, safety instructions, and do our utmost to create a safe environment, participation is at your own risk. By attending any class or workshop, you agree to: Follow all safety instructions and use equipment responsibly Inform staff of any relevant health conditions, allergies, or accessibility needs prior to attending Accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of any guests or dependents you bring along The Textile Workshop accepts no liability for injuries sustained during the normal course of craft activities.
